It¡¦s amazing how the smallest thing you do can be turned into a Herculean feat in your mind. It happens to me often these days whenever I cook. I always end up with this feeling that I am beyond doubt the best cook in the world! Rationally I know that I am not that great a cook at all.
All our actions seem to make the ego grow. Now that I am teaching yoga, I have to constantly struggle with not allowing the ego to feel like a guru, a know it all. At the Yoga Institute, they asked us to see ourselves as a cog in the wheel¡K a dot in the large canvas of life! A simple cup of tea requires a farmer to grow and harvest the tea leaves, someone to transport them, someone to process and package them, someone to sell the finished product in their shops, etc. Then there¡¦s the milk, the water, the electricity or gas we use and all the people who helped provide those to us¡Kand here I was thinking I made the tea myself without any help! ƒº
