Survival of the fittest is a theory and term defined to explain the life cycle of animals. Man, a social animal, all this while conveniently thought that he had wisely managed to escape this cycle and was basking in the glory of wise choice. But after deep thinking and contemplation, I finally have realized a crucial fact of my life and the life of other alleged humans.
We think that we have the freedom to choose our passions and driving force and walk on a path that makes us happy. So we change one job after another and try to discover our passion, our dream our so called forte. Strangely, after changing a myriad of jobs most of us come to the conclusion that we are perfectly fine but things were wrong at our workplace. The boss was a bitch, the salary - peanuts, it was not challenging enough, my co-workers sucked; the list is endless.
After endless battles, we learn that we have no choice but to go along with our sucky professional lives till a miraculous change occurs. With what right do we say that we are on top of the pyramid when we are struggling more than all things alive in nature? How come half our life goes in chasing the needs, luxuries, desires? And the other half has no choice but to succumb to the repercussions of the stress taken by us in our peak years.
We aimlessly run in our hay days, thinking that all the hard work will pay off when we are ready to give it all up and go for a spa resort holiday. Unfortunately, the running never stops, and we create our own little hell wherever we go. So even at a point when we decide to stop chasing unnecessary things, the sly mind has some other plans altogether. It continues the wild run. SIGH! If only things were a tad simpler??
