Starting a relationship is not as easy as most people erroneously believe. Some of the best ways to get it right are listed below:

Be sincere

Sincerity goes a long way to make a relationship survive from the onset. Each of the partners in a relationship should come into the relationship with open mind i.e. say what you can live with, say those you cannot live with, reveal everything you have done in the past that may cause problem if your partner gets to know from other sources. Such that if he/she hears something you have already told him/her, it would not be any news to him/her.  In my own case, Despite the fact that I have observed certain things I think I could not live with if my observations were to be true. But, my partner prefers to hide the truth until the time they started unfolding and I could not live with those facts. This is on the reason that led to the beginning of the end of our relationship. 

Be yourself

You just have to be yourself in order to enjoy the full benefit of a relationship. Instead of pretending to be who you are not, so that your partner would think you are perfect, why not just be yourself and let him ask questions about why you are like that? This will give both of you opportunities: You, will start thinking of how to adjust if possible incase he does not like some of your attitude. And He, will know whether such attitudes are what he could adjust to. Then, both of you can strike a balance. 

Be prepared

In case, you failed in the above two circumstances. Then, you should either be prepared for a very big sacrifice to manage the relationship effectively and efficiently in order to make it survive or go for a divorce. This will greatly depend on the level of compatibility (i.e. The Actual Basic Compatibility) in the relationship. The level of commitment to each of the earlier two factors will help to determine the actual level of compatibility in any relationship.

The above factors led to the breakdown of my relationship and it's still leading to the breakdown of several other relationship on a daily basis.
