My Experience: "I have been practicing Ayurvedic Yoga Massage since 2003. I completed my Yoga teachers training from the Yoga Institute, Santacruz E. Before and after my training, I have been a student of yoga with Swami Yoganand Saraswati and various Iyengar Yoga teachers for several years. I completed my Reiki level 1, practiced several osho meditations and have taken part in some Art of living courses. Vippasana has been a strong influence in my life and work. All spiritual practices help us get back to our natural selves. To get back to the natural self, nothing more needs to be added but many many things need to drop...negativities, bad habits, tensions, stresses, fixed and strong opinions and prejudices about other and ourselves, etc. Being comfortable and accepting of your body with its shape, size, colour and all those other things which contribute towards beauty and health in our eyes is the first step. Massage goes a long way in creating this acceptance and love for your own body. Each person is unique and therefore to have a fixed idea of what is perfect does not work. Infact it is these ideas and notions of what is right, good and beautiful that are responsible for most of the damage and imbalances in our bodies. My struggle to find a job which is interesting and contributes to my own as well as other peoples wellbeing ended once I discovered massage. Massage is I must say not only a therapy for my clients but for me as well. " For more information on my work, please visit www.vedana.in/ayurvedic_massage.htm.
Description:

Massage works on releasing stress and tension stored in the body. Start your journey to wellness from a starting point most of us relate to. By releasing stress trapped in the muscles and helping in better circulation; the body starts to relax which leads to a positive and relaxed state of mind.

In a relaxed and happy state of mind, you are less likely to harbour negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. These negative thoughts are harmful and the first victim is you.

The body starts to become tense, breathing patterns change, more energy is expended...Vice versa, you will be the first person to benefit from your positive thoughts, feelings and emotions. Massage brings awareness to the areas in your body where you store tension/ stress.

Ever heard of the expression "carrying the weight of the world on one's shoulders "; any massage therapist will tell you that is true! Most people store tension in their shoulders. Awareness will lead to simple changes like a better posture- simple changes, which will give huge results! Massage therapy works wonders when going through emotional upheavals as it helps to provide strength and comfort.

During the massage, most people start to breathe in a very natural, rhythmic and relaxed manner. This breath works wonders in allowing the body to heal itself, allowing emotions to be released. A Massage therapist among other things also helps to create a feeling of love and acceptance for one's own body. After a massage, allow yourself to take it easy, to stay in this relaxed state. Support the elimination of toxins started by the massage by drinking lots of water and eating fresh and raw fruits and vegetables. Massage is a healthy activity one can indulge in to create relaxation, awareness and healing. Massage can be one of the building blocks you use to create a stress free and relaxed life!
